event11.jpg [1]I was thrilled to find that we had enough interest to continue the “Adopt a Gluten-Free Blogger” event [2], and it was really fun to read everyone’s posts. If you participated but haven’t emailed me your entry, please send it to me right away and I will add you to the roundup! (If you sent me an entry but my evil spam filter ate it, I’m very sorry and would love it if you could send it again.)

As you know, I’ve been one very busy girl lately, and so I’m thrilled to announce that we’re opening the “Adopt a Gluten-Free Blogger” to new hosts. Rachel of Wheat-Free, Meat-Free, one of my favorite gluten-free vegetarian blogs, will be our host for the month of April. The next adopt-a-GF-Blogger event [3] will be open from April 28-May 11, so stay tuned for your opportunity to adopt your very own blogger. The only restriction is, your blogger MUST blog gluten-free, at least part of the time, and you must adopt someone you have not adopted previously . So, start thinking about who you’d like to adopt and get those commenting fingers ready- remember, it’s first come, first pick!

Book of Yum will continue to be your “announcement central” for this event- I will set up a page much like Gluten-Free Mommy’s page for the Gluten-Free Menu Swap so you can always check here to find out the dates of the event and who is hosting. (Thank you for the inspiration, Natalie!) If would like to sign up for a month to host the “adopt-a-gluten-free blogger” event, please post or email me at seamaiden399[AT]gmail[dot]com.

BytheBay adopted Naomi Devlin of Straight Into Bed Cakefree and Dried [4] and made her lovely, whole grain teff pita recipe that just cries out for yummy fillings.

Carrie of Ginger Lemon Girl adopted Lea of Lea is Gluten Free and made a hearty Stuffed Cabbage Soup Recipe that looks sure to keep you warm no matter how chilly the weather.

Thomas of GFCF Experience adopted Childlife and made her delightful recipe for homemade GFCF Graham Crackers. As Thomas said, these crackers just cry out to be made into cheesecake… and we’re dying to see his casein-free cheesecake recipe, sure to follow!

Rachel of Wheat-Free Meat Free adopted Jeena of Jeena’s Kitchen. I love that she thought outside the box and adopted a creative soul that doesn’t strictly blog gluten-free but who has a convenient gluten-free recipe index. As Rachel said, “Boy, are these delicious. And a great, versatile recipe to play around with, depending on what veggies you have on hand.” I couldn’t agree more, and am thrilled to have been introduced to such a yummy, new recipe.

Karen of Gluten Free Sox Fan adopted Carol of Simply Gluten Free [17] and made her delicious recipe for eggplant lasagna that is absolutely noodle-free and great for using up surplus eggplant.

Here at the Book of Yum I adopted Naomi of the Accidental Vegetarian [11] and tried her hearty and family-pleasing recipe for Almond Crusted Zucchini. I also cracked open that precious bag of Better Batter flour to make a gluten-free french bread in the first ever Bette Hagman Bake off, comparing Bette’s french bread to Naomi’s impressively simple recipe. (Follow to post to see the winner, haha- it was a VERY close call.)

Cheryl of the NEW BLOG Gluten-Free Goodness adopted Cindalou [13] and made her hearty turkey chili soup. Seems like a lot of us were looking for warming, comfort food this month!

Kate of Gluten Free Gobsmacked adopted me, Sea, of the Book of Yum [15] and made Adeena’s famous rosemary-teff rolls. She declared them to be “mild flavored dinner rolls that I will make again and again.” Awww, thanks, Kate! Just looking at the picture makes me want to make them again.

Heather at Puff Muffins adopted Natalie [18], the Gluten Free Mommy and made her chicken salad recipe.

Naomi of the Accidental Vegetarian adopted Kate of Gluten Free Gobsmacked [19] and made her delish and unique baked tapioca pudding recipe! Mmm, sounds soft and sweet… (You’ll just have to read the post to get the joke.)

And last but definitely not least, Lucy of Free-From adopted Pig in the Kitchen [20] and wrote a lovely homage to this entertaining and clever blogger. Oh yes, and she also tried PIK’s recipe for Archimedes bread.
