Oh Sea, I can't believe that you've been so sick since we met at BlogHer Food. Sounds like your hubby has looked after you well and well done for keeping up with breast feeding!!! Big hugs. Nicola

Oh my goodness, you have had quite the couple of months! Hope you are truly on the mend now and feel back to your usual self soon. Your hubby did manage to bake a lovely apple cake--and I guess the ratio of apples-to-cake is a result of the leakage, but it does look terrific anyway! Thanks to introducing us to Thomas' blog! :)

Aww Thomas, Thank you for being such a good friend and participant in our little event! I'm glad I finally got to try a recipe from your blog. I just wish I'd been able to do the pierogies too, but with being so darned sick I needed to take it a bit easy. Thank goodness for my awesome hubby!

Maggie, Yes, we love our apple tree. We also have persimmon, avocado and artichokes growing. And apricot and a few others which may or may not yield fruit. Sometimes living in Ca has its advantages! The cake is gorgeous and very tasty. I highly recommend it!

Hi Wendy, Thank you! Baby Yum has turned into quite the beggar. She wants everything on my plate! With me being sick I don't really want to share my germs, but it is adorable to see her like a little baby bird begging for food.

Hi Valerie, Yes, it has been an unexpectedly tough month. The DH has been my lifesaver, feeding me and everyone else in the house. Breastfeeding will carry on! No doctor has been stupid enough to tell me to stop (wouldn't do them any good) and I fought for BF friendly antibiotics and got them. There was a little bit in the hospital where I thought I might have to get antibiotics that weren't breastfeeding safe and... well... I would have been devastated. But, thank goodness, it worked out. My baby needs the antibodies in my milk, more now than ever. So far she hasn't caught my awful flu etc. and I hope it stays that way.
