Hi Veg J! Funny you should comment on this beverage- I just bought some club soda for it quite recently and made some to serve to some friends. They loved it... so refreshing on a hot summer day. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed reading about my experiences in India. I'm actually cooking a bunch of Indian dishes right now- rasgulla dessert, aloo jeera, and the fried dal vada/pakora. The house smells great but it is SO HOT Inside and OUT. Ugh.

This drink brings back memories, Sea.

I've been making it for years, ever since I learned how when I was working at a soda fountain/deli in college. Nice to know that it probably comes from India. I think it is the most delicious refreshing summer drink I've ever had.

I make it by quartering a lime, squeezing the juice into the glass and then putting the squeezed section into the glass, before adding the syrup and soda. If it lasts long enough, the drink picks up a bit of the lime oil from the skin.
