That sounds wonderful! There are so few restaurants around here that have SO much to offer. We recently went on a trip to Williamsburg, VA and ended up staying an extra day/night. I packed just enough food for our original schedule and sort of panicked a bit. To my delight, I was able to find some restaurants with gluten free menus! Gluten free options have come a LONG way since I first realized my dd needed a gluten free diet 12 years ago.

As for the meat eating toddler, I've had a similar experience. My dh always ate meat, even when I was vegan or vegetarian. He usually ate it when he was alone (out of respect for me), but it never really bothered me. I just didn't want to cook it. Raw meat totally squiffs me out. For me, it's all about choice. Everyone has the right to make their own choices. Dd was vegetarian by choice for a lot of years. Then suddenly when she was about 8 years old, she asked to eat meat. Out of the blue. So, I made some for her. She's been eating it since. When she was old enough we read The Omnivore's Dilemma together (they have a youth version) and she learned about good farming practices. Now, she's vigilant about the meat that comes into our house. It MUST be organic and well treated. Most of it's local from a farm we trust. The three of us all have our own feelings on diet and we do well respecting each other. No one feels bad for their choices, so it's totally doable having veggie and nonveggie in the same house. ~Mars

O MY CUPCAKES!!!
My daughter, Aspen, and myself so love Picazzos' in Flagstaff. We reside in Flagstaff, and we love how affordable, gluten-free, and just down home friendly these folks are up here at 7,000 ft., yes indeed. Their food is simply delicious, and it keeps you coming back for more, as the whole staff does.
It is very cool when you walk into a restaurant such as this one, and they know your name, know what you like, and ask about how you are doing, yesss. It is Picazzos' for us, blessings, redraven

Thanks for the nostalgic reminder of the Arizona-Sonora Desert museum. Rita lived in Tucson many years ago and when I visited her we went to that museum - I still wear the T-shirt! My favorite part was the bird enclosure. And it was hot - even hotter than Texas most of the time.
