Hi Jenna, Thanks so much for your comment. It really makes me glad to have a blog when I get comments like this. You can absolutely still use your madeleine pan (although make sure you get all the gluten out). I'm really glad you've been feeling better on the gluten-free diet.

How about making your DH (and you) some grits (Bob's Red Mill now has GF gluten-free mill processed grits), topping it with butter, fresh apple slices, blueberries, a favorite nut (walnut?), milk and brown sugar? I have this breakfast often, actually! :) Or try a sweet version of this recipe with more sugar, no savory ingredients, dried or pie style apples, and dried blueberries? Actually, i think you've inspired me! Thanks for coming by!

Just starting to wander the gluten free path - and its recipes (and sites!) like this that make me a lot happier about what I need to do. Well... beginning a life in which I don't feel sick all the time is a pretty big perk too. I had thought I should give away my madeleine pan as I couldn't see my using it ever again - this changed my mind big time.

(My loving husband who is energetically going gluten free at home with me is of the opinion that as long as we keep finding so many wonderful corn based recipes, he never needs wheat again. Now, I just need to find the perfect trifecta for him - Corn, apples, and blueberries.

Hi Cheryl, So glad you enjoyed the recipe, allergies aside. :) Hope the DH likes it!

Hi Esther, Don't worry, I'll have my DH and dad there to paint too and I promise not to touch the ceiling. (Ceiling? honestly? hee hee) I might just do the baby room and let the boys handle the rest. With the baby room we're painting only lower half of wall a lovely pastel green and then a stripe. :) And it's no VOC, totally non-toxic paint. You should see what a lazy slug girl I am these days... no over-exertion here! ;) I highly recommend the madeleines! We're still enjoying them.

The madeleines look fabulous. Don't push yourself to hard my dear particularly with things like painting you have to be careful with over stretching when pregnant. Trying to paint a ceiling at about 5 months with my second is what triggered my SPD to become serious and I wouldn't wish that on anyone if you can prevent it. Remember your joints are looser and it's easy to do your self a mischief.
