Anaphylactic allergies and intolerances are very different animals- those who suffer from the former will generally have to be more careful about cross contamination than those with issues with the latter. Any questions about manufacturing will have to be directed to the company. The chocolate chips and bars are a different shape so I would assume that they use, at the least, different molds.
