Pre-gluten free, Subway was a regular stop for me. It was quick, easy, tasty, and relatively inexpensive. Much as I'd love to believe that they will be able to safely do GF, I'm not convinced. But like you, I appreciate the fact that a conventional restaurant is willing to try.

Your quinoa burgers look sensational. Once can never have enough vegetarian burgers in ones' cooking repertoire! Thank you! Can't wait to try it!

Definitely dinner tonight or lunch tomorrow. I have black beans *and* quinoa that need to be used, and this looks perfect either by itself or wrapped in a tortilla.

Yes, I agree with you about the Subway product - I'm very doubtful of the safety, and wouldn't think of eating anything there - ever. Cross-contamination galore... problem is, even though many restaurants (chains and otherwise) are providing GF stuff, it is subject to cross-contamination and may not be, as you say, done properly. I worry that it is becoming a trend or a fad, which risks taking away from those who need to be GF for medical reasons. The "just this once" mentality, as if GF is a "diet" rather than a lifestyle need medically. Sigh. Very much a mixed bag. All I know is that I'm safe - 100% - only when I eat at home in my kitchen.

I too am very leary of Subway's gluten-free trial. I've heard that the gf buns come with a wrapped plastic cutting knife, but what about cutting surfaces? And think about the employees at Subway. As hard as they try, many of them are kids who many not truly understand the severity of the issue. And you're right about the condiments. They need a separate gf line with condiments for sure.

Looking forward to trying those quinoa burgers. I've made black bean sweet potato, but not quinoa, and I just love that nutty taste.
