I haven't tried the Dubbel Dark yet, but think that Green's Amber stands head and shoulders above other GF beers on the market. FYI, the Trappist, a Belgian beer bar in downtown Oakland, carries Green's Amber.

I so jealous you have a gf pizza bakery!

New Grist is my favorite gf beer. It reminds me of Coors light, my previous favorite beer. I squeeze some lime into it. The owner of my favorite bar has stocked up on it, just for me. Bless his heart!

I think Redbridge is okay. And it's so easy to get (hey, the Budweiser truck stops at every bar, every week) that I wish every bar would stock a case.

Hi Kristin, Thanks for commenting! It's very helpful to hear what everyone else had and enjoyed most. :) I think with the Dubbel Dark, you either love it or hate it. Unfortunately, I hated it. lol. But I've also never been able to try a guinness. :)

Hi Jo, Glad to hear what you thought of the beer. If you ever get a chance to try the Amber, go for it- I really liked it. Hope you get to come to our little gluten-free corner of the US sometime! :)

Hi Betsy,
If you go to the top tab of this site under GF dining there is a map (a group project) as well as more specific listings with links to my reviews of GF bakeries and restaurants. There are others in Davis, Berkeley, and San Francisco that are definitely worth checking out! (Although if you're making a trip for GF food, I actually recommend Portland, Or... they have us beat, although Mariposa is definitely a jewel in this area.)
 Hope this helps!

Wow, I am so jealous! I wish I could go there. We may make a trip to the bay area this winter. Can you recommend any other yummy GF restaurants?

Thanks!

I wasn't ever a dark beer drinker (although the first beer I ever tasted was Guinness), but I loved Green's Endeavour Gluten-free Dubbel. I really liked the rich tones, the sweetness, and the fact that it was really effervescent. I split it with my husband (a gluten-eater and a beer lover) and he liked it too. I'd like to try the other Green's, but price is somewhat prohibitive. Thanks for the great review! I may live in Kansas, but it's always great to read about other locations and what they've got gluten-free. :)

Thanks for the post. I agree that a good time was had by all. Some additions: I loved the pumpkin bread and was sorry to learn it had been sold out! The multi-grain like bread with the sunflower seeds (don't remember the name) was fantastic. I had it for lunch today. My favorite beer was actually the Green's Dubbel Dark. It was delicious. But then, I am partial to dark beer and have been craving a Guinness for years.
