AWESOME site! Thank you so much! I have recently discovered that I have allergies to gluten and dairy and I have made a decision to not eat meat - so I guess you'd call me a gluten free vegan! :) Sustaining this diet in our society has been extremely difficult and finding good recipes even tougher! So you can imagine how happy I was to come across your site. Can't wait to try the menus you've posted! Thank you again for inspiring me to stick with this healthy diet in a not so healthy world. :) Kudos! Priscilla

Hi Karen,
Hmmm, good question. There is a book called "<a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1557885109?ie=UTF8&tag=boofyu-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1557885109" rel="nofollow">The Gluten-Free Vegetarian Kitchen: Delicious and Nutritious Wheat-Free, Gluten-Free Dishes</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=boofyu-20&l=as2&o=1&a=1557885109" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />" that is pretty good, although I think you can find similar recipes in a mediterranean vegetarian cookbook. For baking, I like any of Bette Hagman's books- just leave out the gelatin in recipes and use dairy free or lactose free substitutes for milk ingredients. There are a few gluten free, vegetarian blogs- of course I'm partial to my own, haha, but you can find some more in the bar to the left. There are some good gluten free veggie burgers- I wrote a review of the major brands here: http://www.bookofyum.com/blog/?p=576

Any good vegetarian cookbook with lots of pictures can be inspiring and helpful. The glossy kind on sale at major bookstores often have a lot of naturally gluten-free recipes or easily adapted recipes. I also like Cooking Light magazine, which although not a vegetarian magazine, usually features lots of vegetable recipes, as well as Vegetarian Times magazine.

Hope this helps! Good luck to your friend's mother-in-law!

B! I read your comment about wanting a Davis Food Coop cookbook and have an extra one to send you. But what's your address? I can't even seem to find an email address for you. So... let me know where I should send it. -brendon (somethinginseason.com)

Hi! I have a question for you - a co-worker came to me because her mother-in-law was just diagnosed celiac. I can help her with the gluten-free, but she is also a strict vegetarian, which I am not. I was wondering if you could recommend a good basic cookbook or website (in addition to your own, of course!) for her. She isn't vegan, but is at least lactose intolerant. She's very overwhelmed, particularly because she was used to eating a lot of packaged/processed meat substitutes.
Thanks!

Hi Dara, I have a new recipe for hot and sour soup I'll be testing this week. If it turns out well, I'll post the adaption of the recipe online with pictures... :D

Hi Natalie, It's been cool and wintery lately so I'm in the mood for hot soup, can you tell? haha

Hi Planning Queen- It should be up this week, if it gets the stamp of approval. ;)

Hi Shannon, Thank you for the invitation. I've emailed you and look forward to hearing more about the program.

Hi Gaile- doh, and I was just feeling guilty about that darned recipe, too. I wanted to perfect it a bit before posting, and haven't had a chance. Well, MAYBE i'll make potstickers instead of egg rolls... hmmmm... *blush* I'm so glad you enjoy the pine nut ricotta. I now buy way more pine nuts than ever before. Thank goodness for Costco bags. (We don't belong but my Mom does and I went with her this winter, haha)

Thanks for the comments, all. I love hearing from you :D
