I'm sorry the brownies didn't turn out using almond milk. For Pamela's, I like to use coffee.

Funny- I'm finding now that I'm baking vegan, my gluten-free recipes turn out better using water or coffee as the liquid, rather than one of the alternative milks. I've no idea why. Funny, eh? ;)

OO, i love the retro recipes for summer idea! I made a fabulous potato salad a few weeks ago that I am also finalizing, and could post as well. Oh, and last year I worked out homemade barbecue sauce that was great! now if we could just come up with a gluten and dairy free ambrosia salad! :)

Aww, your friend sounds like a real keeper. It is really touching when a friend or family member takes the time to scope out what's involved in feeding you. It's so nurturing! My friend Tina is an engineer and she goes way out of her way to make sure that Dan has a gluten-free something to eat whenever we get together with our circle of friends. She usually brings two different gluten-free items and looks upon the cooking as just another problem-solving challenge, as engineers naturally do. I love Tina! Tell your friend she's great from me!

Hi Gaile! Mmm, sounds good! Why don't you let me know when you post it, and I'll add the link to this post. We could have a "retro recipes for summer" thread. :)

That barbecue sounds really fun. How nice of your friends to do that for you. (And I bet no one missed the gluten!)
