The heat is starting again. Just yesterday I had some amazing limonana with ice chips. It was just so go-o-od. I was at Carmel market around 3 pm. The sun was melting me.
By the way I discovered recently some pastry in Tel Aviv near Groningen Garden. They bake there quite good gluten-free pastries.

Wow I love all the colors of the foods, the markets and the food you ate. What a great experience. Now you help others heading there who need to travel gluten free.

Beth, I would LOVE your recipe for Shakshuka! I can't wait to try making it.

Joe, I know- it is crazy how the gluten-free world ends up being confined to the foods of your own country or the few that end up being imported. I'd love the muffins I had in Austria, for example, to be available here. Yum!

Kim, Thank you for coming by! Yay for fluffy hummus- such tasty stuff. I will research the limonana.

Nancy, If I were to visit Israel regularly I would definitely try to pick up some Hebrew. As it is, with this maybe being a one-time visit, I tried to absorb some by osmosis and google translate. I CAN read "gluten-free" in Hebrew now. haha. But I have so many other language needs and interests, mostly in Japanese and Chinese, that I don't have time to invest in another for the time being. Thanks for the tips though!

Shirley- THanks! Always nice to see you over here! *hugs*

Kalinda- I know, olives are the best. It is funny, I remember hating them as a kid, but then I only had the terrible canned kind- yuck!

I love Shakshuka, my recipe comes from a book my parents bought me in Israel. Will be happy to share if you'd like. I have never been there but just looking at the markets makes me drool.
